There was a debate in out office this morning about the use of arc trip breakers in bedrooms of a hospice. I said they were needed, but some of the people in th office said they weren't. Any thoughts?

Re: recept in a hospice

The 2005 NEC has changed the definition of Dwelling unit to match the definition in the IBC.
This change makes it more clear IMHO.

I think it would depend on the occupancy classification it would fall under. If there are more than 16 people than it could be classified a I1, which is an Institutional occupancy.

I wouldn't require AFCI in this case. :)
