Is a conduit up out of the floor (say 3") supporting a box with a receptacle an acceptable installation?
It would be for a sandwich prep unit in the middle of the floor (not near a wall).

314.23(F) Raceway-Supported Enclosures, with Devices, Luminaires,
or Lampholders. An enclosure that contains a
device(s), other than splicing devices, or supports a luminaire(
s), lampholder, or other equipment and is supported by
entering raceways shall not exceed 1650 cm3 (100 in.3) in
size. It shall have threaded entries or have hubs identified for
the purpose. It shall be supported by two or more conduits
threaded wrenchtight into the enclosure or hubs. Each conduit
shall be secured within 450 mm (18 in.) of the enclosure.
That makes sense. If it were supported by a single conduit, it could be spun and the connection loosened.A box supported only by the raceways would have to comply with 314.23(F) - "It shall be supported by two or more conduits"
That makes sense. If it were supported by a single conduit, it could be spun and the connection loosened.
But the Article specifically addresses "Raceway supported enclosures". If it had additional support, it would not be regulated by that Article.of course, unless the box is supported by an additional support other than a conduit.
Whats a sandwich prep unit? A Table? Mount your box to that.
Or use a piece of strut and a flange mount.
