This ought to be fun!!!
Here's the question: How high does a convenience receptacle need to be before it is no longer able to be used as a convenience receptacle? Do you just apply the 'lamp with a six-foot cord' rule of thumb as far as in relationship to other receptacles?
Now here's the fun part: Code reference?

Re: Receptacle height

There is no such rule for 'convenience receptacles'.

If you are asking about outlets to satisfy 210.52 required dwelling unit receptacles the maximum height is 5'-6".

The code reference is 210.52

Re: Receptacle height

That was about as "fun" as hard wiring a garbage disposal!
:D

Just messin with ya wwebb! ;)

Re: Receptacle height

Thanks for the code quote....I've gone through that article...I don't know how many times, and have missed the last sentence of 210.52 every time!!! Later....

Re: Receptacle height

that would be some thing a home with all receptacles aside from kitchen and bath being 5 6 to top through out the home no height specs. :D They could argue till the cows came home lol.
5 6 in a kitchen or bath would for the most part put them in side upper cabs and medicine cabs :D
