Receptacle in floor box

A bit of tactical air support please if you can help.
This is an Article 645.2 compliant room. Is there a chain of article references that would require a receptacle mounted in (flush with the top of the raised floor) a floor, to be list for that application (such as 314.27(C)).
Since Article 645 modifies the first four chapters of the code, and article 314.27 is not specifically referenced in 645, then does the floor box have to be listed as a floor box?
I always require it by specification, but I wonder if it is required by minimum code.

Re: Receptacle in floor box

I think 90.3 states that Chapter 6 modifies or supplements the general rules in the earlier chapters. It then continues to state that 1-4 apply unless ammeded by 5-7.

Only Chapter 8 is not subject to 1-7 unless specifically referenced.

Re: Receptacle in floor box

What would say if there was a standard 1900 box with a duplex receptacle mounted on top of the floor facing up, secured to the raised floor tile?. Since it is not "in" the floor, must it be listed as a floor box?

Some internal theoretical arguments.
