I wired a new house for a cattle rancher a few years back. There is a fairly large "mud room" for a rear entry. I can't recall if there is a drain in the floor or not, but they will bring in newborn calves if weather is extreme and that calf needs additional attention. They also have refrigerator in there with vet meds in it.
