So I work for Tesla and I install home Battery back up systems. our systems require us to use power line adapters to send ethernet signal out of our gateway to communicate with the mother ship. I have been installing a receptacle inside our gateway. It is the size of a load center and houses our automatic relay. can anyone give me some code articles on wether or not it is legal to install a receptacle inside a inclosure. thanks for the help

Well traffic light control centers all have an AC service duplex as do most exterior telephone and CATV cabinets. But these may not be under the NEC as they are utility owned?

What you describe is done all the time with industrial control panels. They even make DIN rail mount receptacles for the task:

If you notice, that unit bears a UL508 listing. That's the tricky part, because not all duplex receptacles have that, and it's necessary when using inem in an Industrial Control Panel that is going to be UL508a listed. Been burned on that one...

I don't know how that would apply to your situation however, I have no idea if, or how, that Tesla panel is listed.
