Receptacle rating

An eight amperes food waste disposer is going to be conneted to a 20 A branch circuit through a receptacle. Should the receptacle have a 15 or a 20 A rating?

If it is a single receptacle it will have to be a 20A.
If you use a duplex receptacle it can be a 15A
