Receptacle spacing

I know that receptacles spacing is not more than 12 feet apart. However, how is an alcove treated? Recepts. in photo are 10 feet apart as the crow flies - none are in the alcove area. All parts of the alcove walls were within 6 feet of either of the receptacles. Despite this, is a recept. needed in the alcove?

You need to measure the actual wall space, not as the crow flies... Looks like another receptacle is required. The electrician and inspector dropped the ball on that one.

I agree. I always measure around the walls.

It is hard to say whether or not another receptacle is required. It looks close to 12', one way or the other.

No additional receptacles required.

One below the center window might be nice for holiday lighting...but there is no window sill for the lights anyway.

I would have probably placed one below the center window as well.

I've worked with a lot of people who's tapes that have things like hairs, tad bits. I've also encountered inspectors with different size inches. The thing that's odd is it usually seemed like "their tape" had an autoadjust that compensates toward noncompliance.

What's this SNOW thing ?
I think this looks like a tad bit more than 6 feet by maybe 3 hairs. When measuring from receptacle to receptacle do we use right side of receptacle to left side or is it center to center ?

I would think center-to-center.

Many will agree but nec is not clear on this and if you need that extra inch it might make differance. If this was mine i would have had it in center but who is paying ?
