I have noticed a few threads on here concerning this, I have a question about a situation that I am running into right now. I have read 400.7-400.8 (5)
My question is, I have a request to place a receptacle above ceiling for a plug in low volt transformer for security camera's, the transformer screws in to the receptacle to prevent removal accidentally. My question is, this is not a cord that takes 120 that is going to be strung across the ceiling above the pads, so being LV plenum rated cabling, is this acceptable?

Your installation is fine.

I agree also. Receptacles are permitted above the ceiling but flexible cords are not. Since you transformer is plugged into the receptacle you are OK.
