Can anyone tell me what type of receptacles are needed in the patient care room for a dental room were the work is being done. Also there are receptacles installed in floor were chair is going to be plug into. What about receptacles on walls in this room?

Unless the rooms are classified as Anesthetizing Locations the receptacles can be any type except isolated ground, if the rooms are classified as Anesthetizing Locations they would have to be HG, see 517.60(C)(2)

The wiring method will have to comply with 517.13(A) & (B).

And I would look closely at the definition of "Anesthetizing Location" because few dentists that I know of have one. A tank of NOX and O2 on a cart doesn't count. It would make the whole office an anesthetizing location by dragging it around.

But I like to install HG receptacles in the treatment and exam rooms anyway, so that may be a moot point.

As for the chairs, it's been said in another thread on this same question that the manufacturers recommend a HG receptacle in the floor for them.
