Receptacles in Bathrooms

Where is it noted in the 2005 NEC that bathrooms(residential) MUST have a receptacle (GFCI). I can see where it dictates that receptacles located in bathrooms must be GFCI protected, but not quite sure where it is mandated that a receptacle(s) have to be placed in bathrooms.

Also, does your room meet the definition of the bathroom as stated in the definition section of the NEC?? If it does not they you may not need a receptacle.
