Receptacles located above accessible ceiling space

I can not find in the 2005 nec where it states that you can not locate a perminent receptacle above an accessible ceiling space.

can anyone help me out please?

Someone tell me if I am wrong, but this issue here is the cord that is plugged into the rec being rated to be in that same space.

Also, Is this a plenum?

400.8(5) does not allow the use of flexible cords above a suspended ceiling which I presume the OP is talking about

Ok so i can put all the recs above the ceiling i want, i just cant use them... ;)

i did a job at a big box store and removed many of these type cords. good thing too. even after just six or so months the cords were cracking and brittle. for no obvoius reason. we replaced them with ceiling hung cord reals and outlets mounted in the ceiling tile.
