What are the code requirements for installing a recessed ceiling mounted lighting fixture in a shower? Do exposed parts need be in plastic or can they be metallic?
Re: Recessed ceiling mounted lighting fixture in a shower
As long as the fixture meets the provisions of 410.4(A), it does not matter what what the material type the trim is. The question is whether or not the fixture itself is considered in a wet or damp area. The trim should be constructed as to not allow the entrance of water or by other insulating means.
Re: Recessed ceiling mounted lighting fixture in a shower
We do 1000`s of shower cans a year,if the can is behind dry wall then it is a dry location!!!!!!!if not then all nm run behind drywall would have to be uf if ran over or around the shower area.I remember a thread on this in old forum,in regards to wire behind a shower wall.Any way if the trim is listed its ok
