Recessed fixture in closet

Incandescent fixtures in closets need to be enclosed. Does enclosed mean a recessed can must have a lens? thanks.

Did you answer your own question? Yes, a recessed fixture needs to be completely enclosed such as with a lens. This is to prevent a hot exploding lamp from igniting things stored in the closet.

I guess you are refering to an incandescent recessed can. Just to be clear, if the can was fluorescent, then it wouldn't need a lens.
