Correct me if I am wrong but are most people using LED retrofit kits with can lights? Seems like it. But does this not defeat the purpose of the can being "recessed" since it brings the light basically to the surface? They end up looking just like any wafer light.

Is there a retrofit kit that keeps the recessed look? Or is it better to use a separate bulb and trim if that is of concern?

They make taller retro trims halo has one I sometimes use. I use waferlights alot still and they are easier on the insulation than regular can lights.

Feit makes a deep baffle I'm using on a job now.
I like them, but don't use them with Leviton sure-slide dimmers. They don't care for each other
