How many recessed can lights would it take to properly illuminate a 16'x32' room? 6" H7ICT w/65W R30 lamps, 8' drywall ceiling, neutral color walls and neutral floor covering. The general contractor tells me that eight would be all that's needed. I feel that twelve is more sufficient. Thoughts? Thanks.

I agree with the GC. However thier are many variations. Such as what the room is being used for.
Art, commercial kitchen even residential kitchen or game room. pool table etc...

I put 10 in a 12' X 12' kitchen. The floor area was only about 9' X 9'.
