Anyone know of a mfr that makes a recessed, low-voltage (MR-16 or MR-11) fixture (3" to 4") that has some sort of "air-gap" where the housing makes its way through the wood material of a cabinet, and is listed for such? I see a lot of low-voltage fixtures inside cabinets, not just puck lights, but regular recessed fixtures, cut into cabinet tops for downlighting. I need to do something similar inside a false beam, and have clearance all the way around the can but want to know if the contact with the wood is avoided somehow with a sort of frame that separates the areas of contact with wood. Typical clearances on regular cans I've seen is 2 to 3".

Any takers??

Thank you !

(2) Type IC. A recessed luminaire that is identified for contact with insulation, Type IC, shall be permitted to be in contact with combustible materials at recessed parts, points of support, and portions passing through or finishing off the opening in the building structure.
(B) Installation. Thermal insulation shall not be installed above a recessed luminaire or within 75 mm (3 in.) of the recessed luminaire's enclosure, wiring compartment, or ballast unless it is identified for contact with insulation, Type IC.
