rechargeable batteries

I use a bunch of AA, AAA, and some C and D batteries for different flashlights meters, radios, and other household items etc. I bought a couple of cheapie chargers and I have bought tons of NiMH batteries from Harbor Freight when they go on sale, they seem to do the job. One of my chargers must have had somthing spilled on it, and the moving parts are sticking, I am thinking about upgrading my chargers, I just thought I would see what you guys are using to charge general purpose batteries. also, what brand batteries do you use?

Good question, I keep telling myself to get some NiCads and chargers for the many AA I go through in my camera.

I have a four battery charger for my camera--rotate the batteries and recharge them after i download pictures. Although the camera only requires two batteries, this gives me two spares which i have never had to use. Been like this four five years--no problems.. Download pictures weekly.......

I don't use many batteries, but they are for what I consider a critical application: the tail lights on my bikes.

I have been very please with the La Crosse BC-900 charger, specifically because it displays how much charge each cell takes. In this way I can easily see if a cell is not taking charge, for whatever reason.

I have also been really impressed with the Sanyo Eneloop batteries. They have somewhat lower capacity than other NiMH cells, their key benefit is low self discharge. You can charge the Eneloop cells up, then let them sit unused or get used slowly, and not have them die from self-discharge. http://www.eneloop.info/ Also, in my personal experience, Sanyo AA NiMH cells seem to survive for much longer than various 'off brand' cells that I've used.
