Reciprocal Electricians License 2008 NEC

Ive heard that the reason that some states may go ahead and adopt the 2008 code even though they dont want to (there will LOTS of admendments)is because some of the larger Electrical contractors do work in other states and that some of their guys would not be able to have their license recipricated for the state that was under the 2008 code if their home state was not.

Any one else hear of this?? is there any truth to it? Sounds like this 'political battle' over adopting the 2008 NEC is a hot potato.

Call MythBusters.... I have had recip licenses with different jurisdictions on two different versions of the NEC.

The '08 book sounds like a real gem. The bonding of pool water issue has surfaced here a couple times and I would hazard to guess that that won't be the only 'what the?' we run across while trying to implement the '08 book.

I am, however, in the process of designing some water bonding lugs with the intention of patenting them. Of course, they will need to be attached to the water somehow. My next invention, of course, will be water screws, followed by a water drill and then a water tap.

Of course that will mean that all pools will have to be filled with tap water in order to be NEC compliant.

Don't see how what code cycle has got to do with reciprocal licensing. But there are 50 states and there could be some local rule I don't know about.
