Hi all,

I'm looking for a quality meter that can be left on a panel to measure actual demand over a period of time. Do other electrical engineers do this when utility info is unavailable for renovations?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a quality meter that can be left on a panel to measure actual demand over a period of time.
I have used a Fluke,
Onset 'Hobo' data logger
and a EKM meter.

The Fluke is the most expensive, but it works good. Best in class.

The Hobo I have used the most, thye are a little clunky to install in a smaller cabinet like a loadcenter, but are fine in a panelboard:

The EKM meters are intended for permanent installation, but some of the studies I have done take a long time and these have a nice web interface, so you can read your meter from the office.
Do other electrical engineers do this when utility info is unavailable for renovations?
Yes indeed
