Reconnecting Motor

I have a 6 lead 480 volt 100 hp motor that is connected to an old part winding starter. We're rebuilding the well site and the utility has approved across the line start. Is there a way to reconnect the motor to run on a standard 3 pole FVNR starter?

Sorry Jim. That info has always been on the name plate for me. It had the two diagrams:START and RUN. We wired them for RUN and used a VFD or soft-start.

If that's missing, have you tried contacting the manuf'r?

It should not be a problem as long as the leads are still identified. Look near the bottom of this document.

Thanks for the quick replies. The reason reconnecting doesn't seem to work is in the existing gear, each part of the winding goes thru a separate starter complete with overloads. If I run all the leads thru a FVNR, the overloads will be significantly bigger, and probably not provide protection.

Just install two overload relay blocks fed from a common contactor.
