I want to first preface this with "code approved methods only apply". I am curious of any smarter tech, whether wireless or control wired only, for switches in large buildings? I've been around some that use relays but really haven't spotted anything in industry that seems to hammer down the cost and simplicity.
I'm also thinking about any code requirements, both for residential and commercial, for minimum/emergency lighting. It has always been my understanding this circuit should be hard wired only, but that still adds many hundreds of feet of wire just for that. Willing to do it, but also asking if there are 'smarter' ways?
What I am mostly targeting is simply OH and access door lighting.
