Hey folks
I need some advice regarding the solar project that I got myself into.
I planned to put solar panels on my roof, so I found a good company; they started the work and then it was time for the code requirements and permitting from the city.
It was planned to upgrade the main panel to 200 ampers (currently, I have 100 ampers)
I have a couple of questions here - I would appreciate your input and advice.
1. I need to understand if I really need to upgrade the main panel for this (the new solar system is going to be 9.7kw and I plan putting in 2 batteries and a EV charger as well), let me know if other details matter for this.
2. If the system does require panel upgrade to 200 amps, can my current cables work (see in pic) or I will need to put new Wires from the city grid.
3. If new cables are necessary, what is the requirements, protocols, because city wants to use the EXACT same path for the new cables, as I have now, which goes right under my new driveway, so basically city wants to tear of the new driveway, instead of providing alternatives. What are your thoughts on this. Is this normal? (see pic 2)
