Dealing with some 4 lamp T8 Troffers installed in 2012-2013 and noting 2 failed ballasts to date.
Wondering if anyone else is having high failure rates with the new " Tek?"

Ok

Very good.
This helps with some analysis of the times we are living in.

I work in the service division of a large electrical contractor. Every building they complete we will be back to changing some ballasts before a year is up. Often we will be back to each building a number of times.

The failure rate stinks and it seems to be the same with LED drivers and electronic HID ballasts as well.

Thanks

Thanks

Iwire, thanks for the input.
My background is in HVACR with a parallel in Electrical systems.
I have been watching solid state " Tek " for quite a while and taking note of weaknesses along the way on the HVACR end.
Also I have been watching a degradation of certain branches of engineering over the last 20 plus years.
I have had to deal with building mechanical systems, expensive ones that self destuct due to application Engineering blunders.
Its a strange and disheartening affair.
