Hello all,

Do we have to unplug relocatable power tap when are not in use? The power tap has a twist lock plug at one end that connects to a twist lock receptacle located overhead. The other end has duplex receptacle that drops down when it is in use and coiled up next to the twist lock receptacle when not in use. I was told, they need to be unplugged at the twist lock receptacles when they are not in use but wasn't sure where this requirement came from. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Not a NEC issue IMO.

I can't see any safety issue with leaving it plugged in.

So unless it is a housekeeping/tidiness issue of the end user, I don't get the requirement.

Thank you Bob!

I don't really see it either, maybe like you said, its houskeeping policy.
