RELOCATING BAY LIGHTS

I need to relocate 46 of the 66 fluorescent bay lights in this 125' x 250' x 25' high vacant warehouse. Steel frame with lights hung from j-beams 5' apart. If you were moving the fixture 5' or 10' over to the next beam or two would you run numerous 5' and 10' EMT? OR would you just install a whole new run of EMT? Half the fixtures are cord and plug and half MC whip. Thank you for the help.

It would depend on what the wiring looked like and if switching changed but you would definitely save on wire nuts and boxes running new pipe and it would be better looking. You could tell the customer that you wanted to do it right as well so you re-piped it while saving a extra tap box that is if you have raceway listed fixtures 410.64 otherwise you will have to mount a box and use more pipe and short pieces of MC if its about the same either way re-piping looks cleaner and you would know for sure how it was wired IMHO. Save your HR pipes.
