I have a customer that asked about a relay that is controlled by a radio frequency controller, such as a garage door opener system, but without having to buy a garage door opener and remove what they need from it. Looking for something similar though. It's for an underwash system in a shop. He wants to be able to have each truck in the fleet have a remote that activates the relay to turn on the underwash system. Anyone have any suggestions for these types of products? I'd like to get something reputable that is easy to get several remotes for and program them and also get replacement remotes in the future.
Thank you for your help.

I bought some very inexpensive radio controls online. Very similar to door controllers. This has been ten or more years ago. The ones I have still work. Four channels. A,B,C,D button on one remote might be BCDA on the other. I would look for something more substantial if I were selling them now.

Chamberlain makes a remote control universal adapter, I have one one my gate to convert from Mighty Mules easily hackable remote to a multi code regular garage door remote. If the was has a momentary push button for wash start, that’s the one you need. Can be paired with off the shelf garage remotes.

Ordered a couple cheap devices a time or two, never even tried installing them for client after playing with them a the shop a little to see how they would work out.

Have ordered products from here a few times. Not cheap, but never had callback problems with them either. Was afraid those cheap devices I never installed would be nothing but call back nightmares and would end up costing me more in the long run then it was worth trying to save some cash up front.

How about a Lutron wireless powpak with a wireless pico switch for each truck. If I remember correctly, you can program around 50 pico devices to one power pack. They claim a 10 yr battery life on the switch and the range is pretty impressive, I've been able to turn on and off lights through multiple walls over 100ft away when the power pack was mounted in a metal junction box. The switch comes with a sticky back so they could stick it to the dash board of each truck.

The problem with those might be with how many different trucks / drivers you have available that will need to use this system. Most of them can handle at most 4 transmitters.

I opted for an internet based switch with a smart phone ap. Anybody with the ap and code can activate it.
