Should a fire marshal stamped and approved drawing require the fire alarm batteries in an enclosure not in the same room as the FACP, is it a standard practice in the industry to furnish voltage drop calculations for the battery cables?

I would say "no", but then that's because I've never heard of the backup batteries for a fire alarm control panel being in a different room. We are talking about 24 VDC, so depending on the distance, it might not be a bad idea.

I've seen this before but never thought about it. In the one I'm talking about the cabinets are 30' apart . A calculation did not appear in the voltage drop page of the drawings.
