remote test switch for duct smoke detectors

Just got a call from the field asking if they could mount a remote test switch relatively high on the wall at 7 feet. Not sure what prompted the question nor what's driving the need to mount it at this level. My question here is; what, if anything governs this?

I would say it is operator preference. The test switch doesn't test the duct detector per NFPA 72 Table 14.4.2.2(g), so it is just supplemental.

I'm not aware of any potential ADA requirements for the operation of a test switch. If it were a manual pull station for the fire alarm panel that would be a different story.
