Hey there. I have a house where all the outlets are fed by a single 20-amp breaker. The home-owner says he hasn't had any issues with it tripping.
However, he'd like all of the 2-wire outlets replaced with the standard 3-prong and has read on "message boards" that it would be okay to replace the breaker with a GFI breaker and then replace all of the outlets with the standard ones. (Instead of replacing all of the outlets with GFCI outlets). I understand his concerns with cost savings of $1.50/outlet vs $10/outlet vs. me pulling new wire and breaking it into multiple new circuits.
My question - is that even to code to replace the breaker? I know you can replace the outlets with GFCI but haven't heard of the former.
