Well first its not going to be a simple tape job , more like a splice what is the cable ? meaning what type of cable ? Is this in a pull box manhole , switchboard, transformer meaning open able to splice it. as stated above i must each year get certified to splice and each companys cable we splice trains us on there cable but i can give you a ball park what its going to entail , but yes if your asking a question like this you should not be doing this right ?comments

Agreed, if you have to ask, you should be doing. Most NETA companies have certified MV cables splicers, you can find on in your area at www.netaworld.org

The OP may be asking to verify the soundness of another's work.

Hoan_nd is advised that if he is indeed asking to gain information to do the work him/herself, that this forum does not allow DIY questions here.

Call an expert. MV and HV splices don't go bad normally as soon as you are done. The cable lays in wait, doesn't take much for MV or HV to start tracking. Six months, to a year and half down the road, BOOM! Plus your company name as the last company of record to work "the problem occured".

Better to spend a nickel, and buy credibility, than to lose both in one hit.:)

Hi,
Please help me , show me how to repair insulation of MV cable, it damaged when pulling cable. Tks!

Where was it damaged?
In a man hole?
Do you know if it was damaged in the ducts/conduits?

More info is needed.

The extent of the damage has not been indicated. A splice on an MV cable is pretty time consuming, and you not only need to know how to do it, but you need the proper tape/materials. Most electricians have neither the knowledge or the proper material - nor do the normal supply houses. You do not want to learn how on your first splice without proper supervision....
Will the client accept a damaged/repaired cable? I think not!
