Replacement Globe

I have a customer that has a house built in the 50s. They have a medicine cabinet that has two lights on each side that use long skinney aquarium light bulbs. One of the globes is broken and I have no idea where to look for replacement or custom made globes. Does anyone have any idea where to look? I have good digital pictures that I can post to the appropriate web sites if they exist. Thanks for the help.

I don't know the name of the company, but my wholesale house has a catalog with old style globes in it. I needed a light fixture for a house at our local historical park that needed to look like it belonged.

You may have to replace both globes with new ones that match the style.

Also we have a few places around here that sell parts that have been taken out of houses that were torn down. You might see if you have something like that in your area.

Sorry couldn't be more help. I always hate working on really old stuff for that reason.

I have determined, over time, that looking for restoration parts for older fixtures is a fool's errand. You'll never get paid for the time you have invested. I generally make this one of the customer or designer's jobs. I really don't care who's job... anybody but me. Some major metro areas have architectural salvage stores that sell such things. If you're more rural, you could spend endless hours searching online. I wish there was a forum site where you could post pictures of what you need, and people who have such things could reply. So far, I have not found such a site.
