Any suggestions on the failure mode of a Wilshire 105 lb chandelier lift? I would rather fix this thing than replace it. The customer has a little single bowl tiffany chandelier hanging on it, maybe 50 lbs. She has used the lift 5 times max, and now it is dead.
1) Has anyone repaired one of these things?
2) Suggestions on how to manually get the cable loose to allow us to lower the chandelier?
If I install a replacement lift, I would like to get that chandelier down without having to bring in scaffolding.

Thank you.

The Aladdin chandelier lifts have fuses for the lift circuit and the lighting circuit, good bet yours does too.

You just answered the question I was going to ask. How does a lift used 5 times break? It doesn't. Lightning blows the fuse (good job fuse!).

I will check for the presence of any fuses, was there once already, didn't see any. Seems like there was a problem with Wishiler's lifts, they don't make them anymore, nor does anyone at the company want to talk about them.
