Just to bring up old methods:
Recently had a late-night service call. A fuse had blown, and the tenant had destroyed the HOT fuseholder in an attempt to remove the Type S adapter.
Is this a typical result?
I bring this up because the wording of the code does not allow for the use of plug-fuse shaped breakers (made by Buss), and rather calls for the installation of reducing adapters.
Nevertheless, I replaced the socked (with one I had salvaged) and installed such a breaker. After twenty trips or so, the tenant finally admitted that maybe there was something wrong with his TV set, after all!
BTW, his problem was a dead short, that would have blown any fuse, however big.
