Replacing small fuse panel

I have to quote replacing a number of these little fuse panels in an apt house w/ breaker panels

The smallest panel I've seen is a Square D homeline 2 breaker/4 circuit that's basically 5" wide x 9 1/2" tall, which is a larger size then the fuse panel.

Anyone else done this before? Have a smaller panel suggestion? The picture doesn't show that it goes in a narrow space between a closet door opening and the edge of a wall, so space is at a premium.

Thanks

Given the increase in wire bending space requirements(both UL and NEC) that has occurred since these panels were installed, it is extremely unlikely you will find something that fits in the same space.

You may be able to take a panel, like the one you found, and just use the interior and trim.

If you must have a listed installation, your best bet is probably to use a 'field inspection' process.

WE changed out over 100 panels in an apartment building a few years ago.

We used the 6 space Square D QO panels. Since the new box was larger than the old one, it made for easier removal once the wall was cut open.
