We had a contractor in to install a 20ton hvac unit for our computer room. This installation only leaves 28-30" of clearance around the unit. The contractor is saying since this is a temporary installation the 36" rule is waived. Can someone shed some light into this statement? What article define "temporary" as well as clearance requirement for such equipment. This one is 480VAC fed. Thanks.
