(Note,..If it is for the radio a straight blade parallel will be fine, in fact you can ring the pool with them as long as they are not for circulation and sanitation systems)

(3) be of the grounding type

(4) have GFCI protection

Yes. This is about the convenience receptacle.

I think it is silly to require the circ. receptacle to be of a locking configurationgiven the new distance requirements

well if the receptacle is for the pump it will have to
(1) consist of single receptacle(s)

(2) employ a locking configuration

(Note,..If it is for the radio a straight blade parallel will be fine, in fact you can ring the pool with them as long as they are not for circulation and sanitation systems)

(3) be of the grounding type

(4) have GFCI protection

Now A nickel to a dime most audio devices don't come with a third wire.

The 6' foot rule I beleive is code complianant in respects to the over-all length thats off a device... how come my hilti has a ten foot cord?

Basic Question:

How does a GFCI work?

On ours one of the little rectangular thingies in the center of it makes a click sound and pops out. Then I think a little red light comes on. Anyway, the toaster won't work until we take it out of the sink, dry it off, and push in the button that is sticking out.

That's the DIY version, but......

The dangerous part is that in order to dry the toaster out we have to use an extension cord to the closest non-GFCI receptacle in the house, which in the next room is right on the other side of grandma's bed. Grandma likes to sleep in most days and our cord is so short we just have to run it over the top of her unless we don't want toast in the morning.

Our dog looks just like yours except he is white and has a pink nose. He will go lay in the muddy creek behind our house but won't go outside in the rain. During storms he seeks shelter in the smallest room in the center of the house, the bathroom. (No windows and the fan drowns out much of the noise of the thunder.)

He sits on our couch like a human. OK, maybe not...his butt is on the couch and his front legs are on the floor in front of him.
