Hello,

I'm a 4th year. I'm currently on a commercial job (add on to a church with childcare rooms). The print we have doesn't show receptacles in any of the restrooms. Each classroom area has a 15' countertop with a sink with no receptacle either. I found 210.8 in the code book but it seems to only talk about dwelling units. Does any code exist that says a receptacles (GFCI) must be installed in a restroom or near a sink in a countertop in a childcare facility? Thanks in advance.

In a non dwelling unit, (generally) no receptacles are required, but when installed they count as 180 VA. When receptacles are installed, then 210.8 tells us when GFCI must be used.
You may need a receptacle in the electrical service area, and for a conference room. 210.64.
And for child areas care those receptacles may need to be tamper resistant, 406.12

NEC 210.8(B) 1 thru 8 covers Other than Dwelling Units and yes, it requires GFCI receptacles in the bathrooms.
