Am I going crazy?

I have always operated under the premise that there is some code requirement that any Fixed Electric Heat needs to be on a circuit that only supplies heaters. Today I tried to find that code and have not been able to find anything that resembles it. Not in Art. 424, or 210, not even in my State Codes (Washington) or City Codes (Seattle).

Has that code ever existed? Did I just make that up?

Is it central heating equipment?

422.12 Central Heating Equipment. Central heating
equipment other than fixed electric space-heating equip-
ment shall be supplied by an individual branch circuit.
Exception No. 1: Auxiliary equipment, such as a pump,
valve, humidifier, or electrostatic air cleaner directly asso-
ciated with the heating equipment, shall be permitted to be
connected to the same branch circuit.
Exception No. 2: Permanently connected air-conditioning
equipment shall be permitted to be connected to the same
branch circuit.

I guess 422.12 must be where I got that from. It's not exactly the verbiage I thought it was. I expected to find something to the effect of "any circuit supplying heating equipment shall supply no other outlets or non heating equipment".

I guess I was crazy after all. Thanks for pointing that out!
