I was wondering if there are any requiremtns for wiring a business/commerical building verses residential. IE need to use EMT, BX/MC, or conduit verses nm.
Size is very small building(24X40) is really small office space(10X12), kitchenette, restroom with shower(7X14), utility room (6X10) and seperate workshop(28X24). I do not find any reference requiremnts in NEC. Thank You in advance.

Re: Requirements Commerical to Residential

Article 334 covers requirements for type NM cable. To determine if the cable system can be used in any type of building, regardless of its use, the fire rating of the construction needs to be known. The code use to identify uses permitted by the use of the occupancy, but now by the construction type. See annex E for determination of building types. Also contact the building department in the jurisdiction of the job, many communities have ammended this allowance and do not permit NM in any occupancy other than dwellings.
