Hello,

We are planning on removing cable from a C1D1 rated conduit run. Inside the conduit there are many cables for different instruments in the area. The client is concerned about possibly damaging the other cables in the conduit when pulling our cable around conduit seals. I am not too familiar with the C1D1 sealing process, does anyone know how pulling a cable out could impact the other cables in the conduit?

I think you're going to have a really tough time pulling the cable through the seal. It's pretty much glued there. if I were you I would just leave them alone they're not going to hurt anybody.

Yep I’d just cap them off and leave them . I’ve busted seals out when having the get an additional wire into the raceway but wouldn’t do it to remove old. And there’s no good way that I’ve found of getting the compound of a seal without looking like a cave man with two hammers banging the sides till it all bust apart. Sometimes the seal even bust apart or cracks along with it, than your stuck replacing that.

Even without seals, removing conductors or cables from a raceway where there are active cables or conductors that are to remain is a risk. There is no real reason to remove them.
If there are cables that must be removed for some reason, in a run with a seal, I would assume the cable to remain would be damaged. If this is the case, I would plan on removing all of the cables in the raceway, and installing new ones for the cables or conductors that must remain active.
