Resi bath gfci on odjecent wall.

My instructor says a gfci receptacle can be installed on a wall to the right or partition to the left of basin (areas with red crosses).
I say no because of ‘adjacent to’ requirement.
Who is right?

I say it can be on the same wall as the sink or a wall next to the sink, as long as it's within the distance like the red Xs are.

I do it all the time when needed. It's within the 3', so good to go.

My understanding of the word ‘adjacent’ was ‘touching’ or ‘adjoining’.
It just means ‘not across from’.
.... and no floor receptacle.

I agree, it can go where the red X's are on either side.
