Hi guys,

Its been a few months since I've been on here, same site...FANTASTIC.

Ran into an old contractor friend of mine, tells me he's using cable tray in the basements of several of his higher end places with power and structured wiring in two trays. My question is would he run into trouble with a picky inspector who says Romex is'nt tray rated, RG6 and CAT5e both are'nt tray rated either ??? What do you guys see.

Thanks
Steve

Re: Resi Cable Tray

I see 392.3(A) which permits it. Cable tray is simply a sturctural system.

Re: Resi Cable Tray

From 334.10(4) 2002 Edition:

(4)Cable trays, where the cables are identified for the use.

2005 adds "in structures permitted to be Types III, IV, or V"

(Edited for spelling)

Brad,
Thank you. I stand corrected. Incidently, I looked at some NM on a job. It wasn't maked CT.
