Havnt done resi in a while helping a friend doing a service upgrade.
He mentioned he was going to use seu for line and load side of service.

i thought you have to use ser for load side to mdp bc it has the insulated nuetral conductor .
Is seu legal from load side of meter or do you use ser?

Where exactly is the service point and where is the service disconnect (with OCPD)?
And will any of the wire be inside the house, or is it just going to an outside mounted main panel?

Service point is out side main disconect (Ocp ) is in side

SEU is fine between the meter enclosure and the inside service disconnect as long as it's not subject to physical damage.

Ok thanks

Think about a meter base. I realize there are exceptions but most meters have lugs for a neutral and 2 hots. If you use SER you would have a parallel neutral since the neutral in a meter is bonded to the can.

Don't run the SEU to far inside. Drop right into the panel when you enter the building.

Ya I no your suppose to enter panel from penetration ASAP.
is their a code distance that you have to enter mdp by.
my friend mentioned that he was going to relocate panel bc of clearance?

To expand on the point made by Dennis, if you used SER and landed all four conductors you would create one or more violations.

Unfortunately the NEC does not define "near", so in practice there will be either a local ordinance or a local interpretation that gives you a distance in feet.
