We are gutting and wiring a residential bathroom, There is an existing 15 amp non gfci circuit for bathroom lighting, and shower lighting, does this circuit need to be gfci protected? Is a 15 amp circuit ok for this application. There will also be a 20 amp circuit for the outlet inside this bathroom.Thanks Mike P

Article 210.8 will tell you where GFCI is needed. Unless specific equipment requires GFCI then you will follow 210.8.
15 amp circuit is fine for lighting.

Some fans and or lighting may need GFCI protection if installed in the shower areas.

Some cities (per supplementary codes) require all wiring in the bathroom to be GFCI protected, as well as some un-informed inspectors who feel it's NEC required (which it's not)
