When doing a residential calculation can the stationary tools(drill press,band saw,etc.) in a detached garage be grouped into the appliance catagory(based on the definition of appliances) and derated using the 75% factor when determining the Main service size for the dwelling

My inclination is to say ?no.? This is based on the phrase ?other than industrial? in the Article 100 definition:
Appliance. Utilization equipment, generally other than industrial, that is normally built in standardized sizes or types and is installed or connected as a unit to perform one or more functions such as clothes washing, air conditioning, food mixing, deep frying, and so forth.
