I'm looking a major panel upgrade in residential building and would like feedback and thoughts on the upgrade.
Currently there is a single, 40 year old, QO 200A 40 Slot/40 Circuit panel that is completely loaded. There are numerous upgrades requiring electrical in the near future and I'm looking to future proof.

The major changes include:
  • Upgrade Main Load Center to 54 slots/circuits
  • Install remotely located 200A subpanel in the rear of the building to supply exterior electrical, multiple outbuildings, pool, RV/Welder hookup, and future HVAC Mini-Splits, and possible EV electrical.
  • In the near future there will be a detached garage which will likely feed the main house (generator and solar panels to be installed).
Electrical Projects Already Underway:
  • Electrical to outbuilding #1 & #2 (Conduit already installed)
  • Electrical to pool area (Conduit already installed)
  • Electrical to exterior deck
  • Electrical to kids play area
  • RV & Welding Circuit in Garage
  • Fix Rear Electrical recently damaged by lightning

  • 3x Mini-Split Units (42K)
  • Hot tub
  • Detached Garage

  • 2 Kitchens (2x Stoves/Oven, 2x Microwaves, 4x Counter Circuits, 3x Fridge/Freezer)

  • Well Pump
  • Heating/Boiler
  • House Lighting Circuits
  • Exterior Lighting Circuits
  • Exterior (Front) electrical Circuits
  • Exterior Chicken Coop (Multiwire branch circuit)

  • Exterior Deck Electrical
  • 3x Bathroom Electrical
  • Exterior Play Area Lighting
  • Exterior Play Area Electrical

Sell you my last QO AFCI breaker for $1000.-, since no longer made for QO.

Might be worth it when inspectors fail QO Dual Function, tripping out on energy efficient appliances.
NH has exception to AFCI code because of the nuisance tripping. I wouldn't install them here, but thanks.
