Does any have the code to reference light location requirements for exterior entry doors. Height distance, or post light.

This post makes me think of a house I worked at a few months ago. It was only five years old, pretty large, with a three car garage. All of the outside lights at the side and rear exterior doors were about 5-1/2 ft off the ground. At face level. The only ones that were higher were the main entry lights.

That would have been a good idea for the guy who wired the house. He must have measured off the exterior grade at the time, which may have been lower than final grade, instead of measuring off the door frames.
