Does anyone have experience installing a floor box in a dwelling where the floor construction consist of a sub-floor where hydronic heating is installed and then covered with 1-1/2" of Gyp-Crete and Tile for a total depth of 2". I have found a Hubbel cast floor box that is exactly 2" deep but it is cast and the installation states that it is for a concrete floor with a depth 3-4" of concrete. Can such a box be used in combination with Gyp-Crete and wood construction? I had thought of a Poke-Thru floor box, however the ceiling below this space is fire rated and thus no access to the j-box on a Poke-Thru unit. I am trying to not cut the sub-floor since it must be tight enough to not let the Gyp-Crete leak through. Any ideas would be appreciated.
