Residential gas meter clearance.

Is there a code other than that of a Utility that governs clearances of electrical equipment proximity to an exterior natural gas meter?

I found one reference to 150mm(approx 6") and another at 3'

Would a utility electric meter socket have a different distance requirement than a disconnect switch for instance.
